The Job Satisfaction and Intending Turnover on Clinical Nurses



Abstract
A high rate of nurses¢¥ turnover from the hospital, one of the serious problem in nursing society in this time, can result to reduce the economic condition of hospital and the possibility of providing optimal nursing care.
This study is a disigned to determine and to solve the subject which is turnover in relation to job satisfaction among the 456 clinical nurses who are currently employed in 6 hospitals throughout seoul city from Oct. to Dec, 1971.
The Data is analyzed by Chi-Square Test and Percentage.
The hypothesis tested and results are as following;
A. 50.4% of respondents expressed dissatisfaction and 6.8% were satisfaction with their employed hospital
1) Hypothesis 1-c was significant relation in between attitude of hospital administrator toward nurses and job satisfaction. (p-value .01)
2) Hypothesis 1-d was accepted as significant level (p-value .01) that was of relation between job satisfaction and their saraly.
3) The reason of job dissatisfaction were 27.0% in Heavy Duty, 19.6% in Low Saraly, 14.8% in Poor Facilities and Supplying Material, and 12.6% in Poor Attitude of Coorperation of Physicians etc.
B. There were 75. 4% of respondents to decide to leave hospitals, and only 24. 6% to decide to remain in. And the younger nurses showed more frequent corncern to leave their employed hospital than the eld one.
4) Hypothesis 2-h was significant relation between nurses¢¥ intended to remain in or to leave hospitals itals and their job satisfaction. (p-value . 01)
5) Hypothesis 2-i was significant relation between nurses¢¥ intended to remain in or to leave hospitals and their past experience of turnover. (p-value , 01)
6) Hypothesis 2--g was accepted as significant level at .05
